The beginning .....

How it all started you might think.... well .... then I must go back in time a little. As you probably know (or don't know) Sacha and I quite like sailing (Sacha just that tad more than myself) and the dream quietly crept in that on the day our children graduated, we would take the plunge into a life as "sailors in Greece". Now one thing led to another and on one of our exploratory sailing trips in 2021, we spotted a beautiful house on the flank of Zavitsa (a mountain in the Peloponnese). We got the fantastic view of the bay just like that! So the dream expanded... should we have a base there now anyway ...

After the usual fuss, Villa Pasthea finally became ours at the end of June 2021.

Meanwhile, a year and a half on, a year and a half of exploring the area, getting to know the house, decorating it to our taste and getting the house ready to receive guests. pretty exciting all round!

And so we ended up here, website ready, first blog ready (hopefully many more to come!), still based in Belgium (kids are still studying), but longing to get back to Greece as soon as possible.... to enjoy the sun, the food, the friends there!

See you in May! From Greece then, because fortunately the prospect is concrete and we can go back for a while in mid-May!
